A few days after the PrideFest festivities wrapped up, I had the opportunity to sit down with Bruschetti, the founder of the popular, all-female clothing line, to discuss her inspiration for the line, the women who wear it, and how the business is doing in 2017.
Bruschetti says she started the business in her parents’ living room in 2016 and quickly realized that there were no traditional clothing brands to cater to the female clientele that came to the venue for PrideFest.
“I really realized that I had to do something that was not just about clothing but also about giving back,” Bruscetti told me.
“It’s been really great to see it evolve over the last year.”””
The line has been really successful and the brand has grown tremendously over the years,” she continued.

“I just want to give back, too, I want to empower the women that are in this world,” she added.
“That’s why I want women to be empowered.”
To that end, Brusci has opened up about her personal journey to come out as a woman and how she’s been able to raise awareness for the issue of sexual violence and harassment.
“You know, it’s been a rough year for a lot of women in this country,” she said.
While Bruschi doesn’t disclose her age on the website for the brand, it has become common for women to wear the same bra size as a man and men to wear a size smaller. “
This is what I’m working on, this is what is driving me, and that’s what’s making me so proud.”

“We have to make sure that this is a representation of what we want to represent,” she told me, explaining that her hope is to empower women to live in a world where they are seen as equals.
“So I’m going to do my best to make that a reality, and I’m really proud of what this brand has achieved in terms of creating this visibility.”
She said she is also looking to make an impact by raising awareness for sexual harassment in the industry.
“As a person that has experienced the exact same thing, I have to speak up.
I’m not going to let that happen to anyone else,” Brusschi said.
She also told me that she’s received a lot support from other women who are going through similar struggles.
“When I first told people about the business, they were really supportive, they supported me, they wanted to help me grow my business,” she recalled.
“
My goal is to help empower them to speak out against these issues,” she concluded.
