The Australian Government has issued an advisory about a new breed of dog, the “Australian Bulldog”, which is being promoted as the perfect companion for people with intellectual disabilities.
The new breed has been described by its creators as “the world’s first companion dog”.
The Australian Bulldog breed has its origins in the United States, where a breed of bulldog was named for an Australian city that had a population of more than 2 million people.
The breed’s creators say the breed can be described as a cross between the Australian terrier and the German Shepherd dog, and it has been named for the city of Sydney.
The name of the breed was chosen for its ability to survive on its own and is said to have helped it survive through harsh Australian winters.
But a study by the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA) says the Australian Bulldogs are unsuitable for people who have severe mental illness or who are on disability.
“The Australian BullDog does not provide the full range of support and assistance that a companion dog of similar age and health would,” the AVMA said in a statement.
“They have a high rate of aggression, are more likely to bite, bite more frequently, and have more severe behavioral problems.”
It is the first time the AVLA has made a public statement about the breed.
The AVMA is the main body that vets the animals that are used in the veterinary industry.
“While we cannot comment on individual dogs, we are pleased to have made the announcement that the AVLMA is issuing an advisory to veterinary professionals to be aware of the potential risks of adopting an Australian Bull Dog as a companion,” a spokesperson for the AVMLA said in an email to ABC Radio Australia.
“This is not a decision that we would make lightly.”
The AVMLAs chief executive officer, David Williams, told ABC Radio the issue was not about the dog breed, but about “the people that are adopting it”.
“The idea is to take advantage of the Australian bulldog, but the reality is they don’t have the resources to do that, so they’re putting it up for adoption and that’s a bad thing,” he said.
The issue has been highlighted by the Australian Government.
In 2016, the Australian government decided to ban the Australian Bulldogs and the Australian Terrier from sale in Australia.
The ban was extended to include the Australian Breeders and Show Licensing Authority (ABSLA) as well.
“As a responsible and responsible industry we need to do everything we can to protect the public,” Mr Williams said.
“We want to do it in a way that minimises the impact on people, but we also want to make sure that there is a strong and effective control of that dog industry and a responsible oversight system.”
But the ABC understands the AVSLA is working on new regulations to address the issue.
It has been criticised for not doing enough to ensure that the dogs are kept in a clean, secure facility.
The Victorian Government has also launched a new initiative to promote the breed, and the Federal Government has said it is considering creating a new national dog breed registry.
“A dog is a dog,” the Federal Treasurer, Mathias Cormann, said in March.
“It is not just a breed.
If we think of a dog as a human being, a dog is an integral part of our society.”
